Since I know you all are dying for an update on our Airstream service/repair drama, here's the latest. One of the many issues we had was a problem with the original flooring. A section of the subfloor lifted up and the dealership simply cut into the linoleum, which didn't exactly look awesome when they were done. So they replaced a portion of the flooring but the installation/seam also looked even less awesome so after all the leaking drama, we asked them to replace the entire floor. As you may expect, this is not a small job. They have to rip pretty much everything out and the process takes a couple weeks. Since our Airstream is our home, we negotiated a loaner to use during the repair time. It's very similar to ours except the "International" line so overall it's a bit fancier with nicer finishes in the "Serenity" style. The other hilarious part is that it has twin beds. So it's become the "Lucy and Desi" loaner Airstream!
We definitely appreciate the loaner but it's also a bit of a pain to move everything out for two weeks and transfer it all on the ONE hot day Portland decided to have this spring. And of course, Inga had to make things more interesting by deciding to go roaming around the Airstream lot while we were moving stuff. Normally, she's super chill and doesn't stray but I guess she wasn't pleased with our moving plan. After probably 20 minutes of panicked running around the lot between probably 100 Airstreams, I circled back to our Airstream and found her just chilling in the shade right behind it. Oh Inga, thanks for the heart attack!
We are hoping to have our sweet Airstream back in another week or so. As annoying as this has all been, we also have great news. After looking for the past year or so for a semi-permanent parking spot, we finally found the perfect spot! We will be parking on a 25 acre farm in Newberg - trees galore with views of Mt. Hood and Mt. Jefferson! We are SO excited!!
